Pharmacist Support, the leading independent welfare charity for pharmacists and their families, is pleased to
welcome new Charity Manager, Diane Leicester, to the team.
Diane replaces former Charity Manager David Qualter, who has made a significant contribution to the work of the charity since he joined the organisation in October 2007, and was instrumental in steering Pharmacist Support in its new, more dynamic direction. Diane will continue to work with the team to further develop and enhance Pharmacist Support’s comprehensive range of services and to ensure that the charity remains in-tune with the needs of modern day pharmacists.
Diane has extensive experience of the charity sector, having previously worked at Age Concern and Help The Aged on the charity’s only national programme, ‘Your Money Matters’ – an incredibly successful programme that was nominated for a Charity Times award.
Diane also has a rounded knowledge of the range of support services available, having previously worked at the Citizens Advice Bureau, where she was responsible for recruitment and training, the telephone advice line service and management of bureau outlets delivering advice within a rural community.
Diane comments: “Pharmacist Support has proven to be an extremely valuable support mechanism for pharmacists and their families. Having worked within the charity sector for a number of years, I truly appreciate the benefits that an organisation like this can bring to many people.
“David has helped to lay some excellent foundations for the charity following on from the re-brand, and I look forward to working closely with the team to enhance the services we provide and continue to raise awareness of what Pharmacist Support has to offer.”
Chair of the Trustees at the charity David Thomson added: “On behalf of the Trustees, I am particularly delighted to welcome Diane to Pharmacist Support. Her considerable expertise, gained from working at a senior level within the charity sector, will benefit Pharmacist Support at a crucial stage in its development. We look forward to working with Diane and her team in promoting and advancing the work of the Charity in the years ahead.”
