The Environment Agency website has plenty of general information on preparing for possible flooding and dealing with flooding once it has happened.  Visitors to the site can also register for flood warnings and check whether they are at risk.

Adviceguide from Citzens Advice

Adviceguide gives useful information on a range of practical issues for people affected by the current flooding.  Topics covered include insurance, help for people who are unable to live in their home, possible financial help from Jobcentre Plus and advice on employment issues, for example, for people who are willing to work but are unable to, due to the flooding.

The South Lakeland Citizens Advice Bureau website has information on flood recovery grants available for individuals and families from the Cumbria Community Foundation.

This website has up to date information and news on road and bridge closures in the flood affected area, school closures and help for people affected by flooding.  There are also regular bulletins for residents and businesses affected by the flooding.
